Designed by Poul Henningsen (1894-1967), the PH 4/3 is a member of the PH 3 shade family. The basic idea for the PH 3 shade luminaire was born during a few hectic months in the winter of 1925-1926 for the Forum exhibition hall in Copenhagen. Poul Henningsen commented on the new luminaire in 1926: “The real innovation in the PH luminaire is that it produces both glare-free and economical light. It is easy to create glare-free light (indirect and strongly directed light) if one allows some of the light to be wasted. It is equally easy to develop luminaires that are highly efficient if one ignores the glare they cause. But creating both economical and glare-free light is an art.”
The functionality of the lamp has been checked by our electrician.
