Aimo Nietosvuori launched a new product in Sweden in the 1970s, ceramic wall panels, and they became the company's best-selling item.

John Ewert 'Jie' Johnson founded Jie in 1942 and Nietosvuori joined the company in 1967. He worked there until Jie's bankruptcy in 1992.
