Basta, Disco side table, low

Antrei Hartikainen (born 1991) is a master carpenter and designer from Outokumpu. His Kukkii sculpture series was awarded Product of the Year at the 2017 Muoto Gala, and his Verso salad toppers won the Golden A' Design Award in the same year. In 2018, Hartikainen was awarded the Young Designer of the Year award by Design Forum Finland.

Basta's Disco side table consists of a black painted table top and a tripod-like steel table base. The rounded shapes of the table top and the shadows created by the table top create the impression of the table top balancing on the base. In reality, the top is firmly attached to the base: the table is delivered in parts and the top is attached to the base by simply rotating it into place.
